Short answer. Grade percent = points earned divided by points possible, times 100. Add all assignments first, then divide once, so larger assignments count more.
How the grade is worked out
This tool adds up all the points you earned and all the points that were possible, then divides. A 50-point lab counts more than a 10-point quiz, as it does in a points-based class.
If your teacher uses categories with weights (for example, tests 60% and homework 40%), use the weighted grade calculator instead.
Worked example
Example. Quiz 18 of 20, Lab 45 of 50, Test 82 of 100.
Earned: 145. Possible: 170. Grade: 145 รท 170 = 85.3%, which is a B.
Questions
What if my teacher drops the lowest score?
Leave that assignment out of the list. The result will then match what your teacher counts.
Can I check a grade before I get it?
Yes. Put your expected points in. This shows what the grade would be.
How do I turn this into a GPA?
Find the letter here, then use the GPA calculator, or open the percentage to GPA page.
