Anagram solver

Type a word or a set of letters. You get the words that use every letter once.

Short answer. An anagram uses every letter of a word once in a new order. Type the letters and the solver lists the words that use all of them.

What an anagram is

An anagram uses all the letters of a word, in a new order. Listen and silent are anagrams of each other.

This tool finds every word in the list that uses exactly your letters. Turn on shorter words if you also want words that use only some of them. A ? stands for one unknown letter.

The words come from the ENABLE list, a public-domain word list used in many word games. Other dictionaries differ a little, so a game may accept or reject a few words that this list does not.

Worked example

Example. The word listen has these anagrams: elints, enlist, inlets, listen, silent, tinsel.

Questions

Does the answer include my own word?

Yes, if it is in the list. That is why listen appears next to its anagrams.

Can an anagram be more than one word?

This tool finds single words only. Phrases such as name anagrams need a different tool.

What if no anagram shows up?

Some words have none. Turn on shorter words to see words that use only part of your letters.
